Our Impact
At Safari Lodge Motel, we believe that where you stay should feel good — and do good.
As a 100% Aboriginal-owned and locally operated business, we’re proud to be a force for positive change in Tennant Creek. Every stay directly supports the work of the Manungurra Aboriginal Corporation, with 100% of our profits reinvested into initiatives that promote community wellbeing, education, training, employment, and cultural and economic development across the Barkly region.
Supporting Our Community
Your stay helps fund a wide range of local initiatives, including:
· Hosting annual NAIDOC Week events
· Creating job opportunities for the Manungurra community
· Supporting the Indigenous football leagues in Tennant Creek
· Sponsoring the Clontarf Academy’s 2023 awards night
Spend Local
We proudly direct 95% of our spending to Northern Territory–owned businesses — and we love recommending their incredible services to our guests.
Caring for Country
We’re also committed to reducing our environmental impact by:
· Installing energy-efficient lighting and air conditioning in all rooms.
· Using water-saving fixtures and drought-tolerant landscaping.
· Minimising single-use plastics across the property.
· Removing single-use cleaning cloths and using eco-friendly cleaning products.
· Providing in-room recycling options for guests.
· Choosing local suppliers to reduce transport & freight.
We’re always looking for new ways to grow our impact — for our guests, for our community, and for the land we call home.
When you stay with us, you're part of something bigger. Thank you.
